The House
House of Peroni is an annual multi-city event that celebrates a dynamic mix of forward-thinking artists and creatives. Originating in London in 2012, House of Peroni arrived stateside in New York City in September 2016, bringing unique experiences, curated by creative visionaries, to stylish U.S. consumers. Since then, photographer and filmmaker Francesco Carrozzini and GRAMMY award-winning musician and artist St. Vincent have acted as curators, using their own unique approach to celebrate and provide a platform to leaders in art, culture, and design. Tastemakers and artists such as Catherine Martin, Vanessa Beecroft, Robert Montgomery, David Byrne, Max Cooper, Lauren Machen and more have been featured as fellow collaborators.
The third installment of House of Peroni will open this October in New York City. Curated by non-profit organization Art Production Fund, which presents art to the public nationwide, the pop-up experience will feature an interactive installation from renowned artist and architectural designer, Jenny Sabin and her practice, Jenny Sabin Studio, that will showcase contemporary design and the evolution of creative expression. In addition, interactive curated events across art and culture will be offered to visitors within the space. House of Peroni will kick off in New York City’s West Village before traveling to Los Angeles, Miami, and Washington, D.C., for a series of one-day events throughout November.

Local Collaborators
MAAYAN ZILBERMAN
Artist Maayan Zilberman was born on a kibbutz in Israel and spent her adolescence in Vancouver, Canada. Zilberman is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York, and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus in Sculpture. Following her years studying art, Zilberman held an artist residency with Ilya Kabakov at the Fondazione Ratti in Italy, a pivotal role that led her to become a designer and creative director in the fashion Industry, co-founding the cult-favorite lingerie line The Lake & Stars in 2007. In October 2015, Zilberman founded Sweet Saba, a luxury candy line created as “candy for grown-ups”. The initial line featured a collection of items from the artist’s past cast in sugar that would encapsulate ephemeral moments for friends to share-a way for memories ingested to take the place of sentimental objects that are both static and weighted. What began as a form of visual poetry for the artist soon became a larger scale project, with sugar-based installations and editions fabricated for clients such as Versace, Dior, Esteé Lauder, Riccardo Tischi x Nike, Neiman Marcus, Jimmy Choo, Adam Selman, Nars, Be@rBrick, Perrier and Canada Goose, amongst others; and for museums such as The Whitney Museum of American Art and Museum of Art & Design in New York City. Zilberman will be collaborating with House of Peroni in New York City.
JEANETTE GETROST
Jeanette Getrost is an internationally recognized artist who will be collaborating with House of Peroni in LA. Named by Vogue as one of the fashion industry’s most in-demand illustrators, she has partnered with luxury brands ranging from Chanel and Dior to Esteé Lauder and Tiffany & Co. Her work has been covered by trend-setting publications including W. and Women’s Wear Daily. With a background steeped equally in studio art and vintage fashion, Jeanette brings a distinctively classical vision to contemporary apparel.
LU ZHANG
Lu Zhang is a multi-disciplinary artist, researcher, and organizer who works in installation, sculpture, drawing, and text — often in response to a chosen site. Lu engages sites intuitively, adapting her methods to respond to and temporarily inhabit a place. She has produced projects in the United States, China, Finland, France, the Netherlands, and Mexico. Lu has collaborated with ICA Baltimore, PressPress, and SPARE to produce publications and exhibitions; the George Peabody Library to launch a studio residency program, and The Contemporary to build resource initiatives for artists. She is the founder of the Institute for Expanded Research, an artist project and research initiative that engages specific sites, contexts, and people as a point of departure to explore the potential for dialogue and collaboration across sectors. Lu will be collaborating with House of Peroni in Washington DC. She received her MFA at the Frank Mohr Institute in the Netherlands and her BFA at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.
MICHELLE WEINBERG
Michelle Weinberg creates art for interiors, architecture and public spaces. She defines her art practice, which includes paint and mosaic murals, hand-knotted rugs, tile and terrazzo floors, and marbleized wallpapers as vivid backdrops for human activity.
She is the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award, a South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship in Visual & Media Art and a MacDowell Colony fellowship. Recent exhibitions of her work include FIU Frost Art Museum and Dot FiftyOne Gallery in Miami, Cyan Gallery in Barcelona, ARENA by Renee Riccardo and the Hewitt Gallery at Marymount Manhattan College in NYC, The Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Edison State College in Fort Myers, FL, Fort Lauderdale Art Museum and Islip Art Museum in NY. Her commissioned murals and public art works include The Wolfsonian Museum-FIU, Facebook offices in Miami, Miami-Dade County Art in Public Places and more. Weinberg will present work at Peroni’s Miami House of Peroni.
Weinberg states, “Although painting is where all my projects begin, I frequently find myself in the realms of architecture, theater, decor and applied arts. From the intimate architecture of the medicine cabinet to large scale shop windows and public art installations, my spaces are populated with stylized forms, eccentric perspectives, flickering patterns, and pastel and hothouse hues. My personal engagement with geometry is inspired by observing how human social behavior penetrates and activates all sorts of surfaces and veneers.”
Peroni Nastro Azzurro
Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Italy’s No. 1 premium beer, is a crisp, refreshing lager that exudes Italian style. In 1963, a time when some of today’s most distinguished Italian brands were coming to prominence on the world stage, the Peroni family envisioned a more sophisticated beer built on a foundation of excellence. The result was a refined beer with a pale, golden color that juxtaposed the darker lagers of the age, and offered a distinctive, crisp, and refreshing taste with a balanced aroma; the perfect complement to the flavorful foods of the Mediterranean. Arriving in the United States in 2005, and enjoyed across six continents today, the iconic Italian lager has since won over tastemakers and trendsetters looking for a fresh, clean beer that compliments their style. Its name derives from the prestigious SS Rex that became an emblem of honor and notability across Italy in 1933 as the only Italian ship to ever receive the ‘Nastro Azzurro,’ or blue ribbon, award. Thus, the embedded blue ribbon on the label symbolizes the style and distinction of quality that Italy has been exporting ever since. Today, the brand’s history, taste, design and partnerships with well-known Italian chefs, designers and exclusive fashion events continues to reinforce the beer’s stylish Italian heritage.
